POLAND OPENS ITS DOORS TO THE CONSTRUCTION MARKET IN SPAIN
Poland is an important alternative to the Spanish construction and Real Estate market.
The country requires more than two million new homes a year and demands a significant investment in its infrastructure for the organization of Euro 2012.
Poland has decided to further open the doors of its booming economy to the Spanish construction companies, which could help overcome the current crisis in the Spanish sector. "The Polish option is a good one for Spain, because these companies are going through a complicated time due to the economic and financial crisis, and because the growth process in Poland has not stopped, as in some of the more powerful Western economies', according to Heads of Business Organizations in Eastern Europe.
The current growth in Poland is approximately 6% per year and has not altered despite the current crisis.
Another factor in favour of Spanish investment is the existence of a strong middle class, well-trained professional workers, and although the gap is narrowing, the salaries are lower than those of Spain.
Until the year 2013, Poland is the EU country that will receive the most cohesion funds, a total of 90.000 million euros. The 2012 Euro Cup shall be held in Poland and Ukraine.
According to the Hispano-Polish Chamber of Commerce in Warsaw, "The infrastructural modernization of Poland is an opportunity for Spanish companies, which play a leading role in the sector."
The Polish government is conducting a thorough legislative reform to activate foreign investment in a country where financial problems are non-existent. Unemployment is at 9% of the active workforce, compared with 22% a decade ago, and the substantial increase in the purchasing power of Poles is an element to take into account when it comes to understanding the country's real estate growth.
